Organize and carry out anaesthetic medical activities, according to MSF policies, protocols and universal hygiene standards and in close collaboration with the surgeon and other medical staff, and increase the knowledge and practical skills of the anesthetic staff through on the job training and knowledge transfer in order to ensure the quality of care provided to patients.
Role of the anaesthetist:
Carry out pre-operative consultations evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the surgeon, providing the patient with appropriate information and deciding the type of anesthetics to be used, in order to ensure the best conditions prior to the surgery.
Carry-out all anaesthesia related activities during surgery to ensure safe, adequate anaesthesia:
Preparing beforehand the drugs, material, and equipment required.
Administering and maintaining anaesthetics following the rules of hygiene and asepsis in force.
Monitoring patients throughout the intervention.
Requirements
Valid degree and current license
At least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience in anaesthesia
Training and people management experience highly preferred
Experience in paediatrics, obstetrics, and trauma anaesthesia; as well as spinal and dissociation anaesthesia (e.g. Ketamine)
Willingness to work in unstable environments
Ability to work with limited technical resources e.g. ventilation equipment
Availability of 8 - 12 weeks
Providing quality medical care to children on paediatric, nutrition and/or neonatal wards in very close collaboration with other profiles such as midwives, nurses, health promoters, and logisticians.
Responsible for the paediatric, nutrition and/or neonatal ward, do bedside teaching and organise trainings for the medical and paramedical staff in all aspects relating to paediatrics in order to help build the capacity of local staff to provide quality care for children, adapted to the local context.
Some of the responsibiities can be:
Applying medical knowledge and skills to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of children, ensuring integrated new-born and paediatric care through Emergency, OPD, and IPD services in New-borns and cases of malnutrition.
Collaborating closely with the different departments of the hospital (e.g. Maternity), Knowing and ensuring all updated MSF medical protocols and universal precautions are followed and implemented, reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control.
Ensuring on-going new-born and paediatric training (formal and bedside) of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the new-born and paediatric quality of care.
Reviewing and discussing selected complicated cases or mistakes and giving technical input.
Requirements
Completed residency in paediatrics
Diploma in tropical medicine or at least 1 year of relevant experience in a tropical context is highly desirable
Relevant clinical experience is desirable
Experience in Pedicatric or Neonatal ICU is desirable
Flexible to work with adults patients depending on circumstances
Availability of 6 - 12 months per each assignment

They contribute their expertise to the overall care of patients.
They also play a role in training and in sharing expertise with local doctors.
Role of the gynecologist/obstetrician :
Training the midwives, nurses and local doctors.
Managing the obstetric procedures in close cooperation with the paramedical and medical team.
Managing the labour and delivery rooms with the midwives.
Managing post-partum complications.
Carrying out patient rounds every day.
Requirements
Licensed Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with minimum 2 years of working experience in your field of expertise
Current or recent practical experience
Extensive experience in managing prenatal and post-natal check ups
Knowledge on normal (including the use of partograph) and complicated pregnancy and delivery
Willingness to work in unstable environments
Availability of at least 8 - 12 weeks per each assignment
MSF needs Medical Doctor with specialization in Internal Medicine or Infectious Diseases. There are several different types of MSF project in where there are needs for MD with TB and HIV/AIDS specialization for example.
Role of the Medical Doctor :
The responsibilities will vary according to the type of the project:
Clinical and organizational support for medical activities, e.g. in hospital setting and refugee camps.
In addition, the setup, coordination, training and supervision of health personnel represent a significant part of a general physician's work.
Requirements
Licensed Medical Doctor
Experience in tropical and infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS , TB/MDRTB, emergency room, mass casualty, Sexual and Reproductive health, ICU, hepatitis, drug usage or victims of torture is an asset.
Diploma in tropical medicine is an asset
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience after obtaining practice license
Team work and people management experience, and able to coach and train other team members.
Availability 6 - 12 months for each assignment.

They also play a role in training and in sharing expertise with local doctors.
Responsibilities :
Undertake pre-operative consultations, evaluating the surgical risks with the anaesthetist, and obtaining the patient’s signed consent to operate
Carry out emergency and scheduled surgical interventions
Provide post-operative clinical care and carry out ward rounds (in collaboration with the anaesthetist, operating theatre nurse and ward staff)
Coordinate the implementation of MSF clinical policies, tools, guidelines and protocols
Organise the hospital emergency disaster response plan and run practice drills
Manage, train and supervise the surgical team
Requirements
Certified Surgeon, who has attained Fellowship
Ability to perform general surgery including Caesarean sections.
Some experience in A&E and orthopedics is desirable (for Orthopaedic Surgeon)
Valid degree and current license
Ability to work with limited resources
Availability of 8 – 12 weeks (minimum) per each assignment
Willingness to work in unstable environments
